Launched May 1, 2020, the Utah Immigration Collaborative (UIC) unites the primary nonprofit immigration legal services providers in the state of Utah – Catholic Community Services of Utah (CCS), Comunidades Unidas (CU), Holy Cross Ministries (HCM), Immigrant Legal Services (ILS), and the International Rescue Committee in Salt Lake City (IRC SLC) – in a collaborative network to streamline and improve access to legal services for vulnerable and low-income refugees and immigrants.
The UIC established a centralized, language-accessible legal Helpline to better coordinate services by screening and referring inquiries to the appropriate agency. The UIC phone Helpline is now live at 801.382.9027 Mondays through Thursdays during regular business hours (9AM – 5PM). Voicemail received outside of hours of operation will be promptly responded to by phone the next business day.
Individual who call the UIC Helpline will be referred to one of the partner organizations for immigration legal services, including but not limited to: applications for asylum and withholding of removal, naturalization, DACA, Temporary Protected Status, employment authorization documents, family reunification, general consultation, applications to attain lawful permanent resident status (green card), pro se support, removal defense, replacement of documents, representation at USCIS interviews, U nonimmigrant status (U Visa), and Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) relief.
